United Services for Counseling is recognized and its staff is accredited by the U.S. Department of Justice to practice immigration law.
The Program offers counseling, representation and advocacy in the following Immigration legal matters :
• Naturalization/Citizenship
• Deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA)
• Adjustment to permanent resident status ("green card") of
(a) parolees
(b) refugees/asylees
(c) family-based adjustment
• Replacement or renewal of permanent resident card ("green card")
• Fiance(e) petitions
• Immigrant visa petitions for spouses, children, brothers and sisters
• Petition to remove conditional status
• Travel Document/Re-entry Permit/Advance Parole
• Employment authorization document ("work permit")
• Replacement of I-94 Card (Arrival/Departure Card)
• Extension of non-immigrant visas
• Applications for waiver of grounds of inadmissibility and excludability
• Applications for asylum
• Refugee/asylee relative petitions
• Requests for waiver of immigration application fees
• Affidavits of Support
• Accompany to Interviews at USCIS office
The Program also provides:
• Certified language translation of documents;
• Notary services;
• Referral to other affordable legal services providers;
• Global education of individuals and communities on issues relating to the U.S. laws and regulations to navigate the system, e.g. regular "Know Your Rights and Responsibilities" workshops (temporarily not available);
• Citizenship and English language learners classes (temporarily not available).
